Barcelona great Hristo Stoichkov has slammed the duo of Jurgen Klopp and Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca for criticizing the timing of the Club World Cup.
Recall that the former Liverpool manager branded the tournament the “worst idea ever in football while Maresca slammed the two-hour weather delay that disrupted their Club World Cup match, calling the situation a “joke.
In a chat with El Mundo, Stoichkov stated that he’s unimpressed with their complains.
“I didn’t expect that from Jürgen.

“I have so much respect for him that maybe if he’s a little angry it’s because Salzburg aren’t (any longer) in the competition because he’s a director of Red Bull.
“When Liverpool were playing nobody complained, when they receive money nobody complains. I think we need to have more respect in these tournaments.
“I had the chance to play in it in the past, when it was just a few matches, but I think that both Gianni (Infantino) and FIFA have done something different. You bring together many cultures, new systems, new tactics, many different teams that didn’t know each other before playing in a tournament like this.
“Everything is fantastically good. First of all, the fans have never been absent from the ground, except for one match where there were warnings of suspension due to thunderstorms. Yesterday Maresca (Chelsea manager, Enzo) also complained about the rain, but what do we do? Do we give Infantino a remote control to stop the rain? They complain about everything.”

It’s a very good idea! Am enjoying it..am sure lots are too…Don’t mind that klop that was how he talked down on Afcon…talks too much…
It helps players keep fit…And they are not keeping fit for free…the competition pays them too…. And it’s still part of holiday and adventure cos they get to travel out meet new people, new culture! Some players that are holidaying at home with their family members and friends still train privately at home for 1, 2 hours or sometimes organise match with their friends….some take part in charity games… All for free so for me I love the idea of club world cup….
