Team Ogun thrashed Team Kwara 4- 1 to secure gold medal in the men’s football at the 2024 National Sports Festival.
The hosts were cheered on by a large crowd at the magnificent Moshood Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta, and they gave their fans something to cheer at the end of 90 minutes
Ahmed Akinyele scored twice early in the first half to set the tone for a comfortable victory.

Team Kwara reduced the deficit on 13th minute , but the hosts regained their two-goal lead just before the break.
Team Ogun scored once after the break to make the score line more emphatic.
The Independent Junior Athletes, IJA, Golden Eaglets) won bronze medal in the event.
